Product Specification: Low-Bainite Steel Shot (LBSS)

1. Product Overview
The Low-Bainite Steel Shot (LBSS) is a patented, high-performance metallic abrasive developed as an advanced upgrade to standard high-carbon cast steel shot. Engineered with proprietary technology (Patent No.: ZL 2010 1 0602821.4), this product utilizes a special low-carbon, high-alloy composition and a sophisticated heat treatment process to achieve a unique microstructure. It is designed for customers seeking significant cost savings, superior surface finish, and extended equipment life.

2. Key Characteristics
*   Composition: Low Carbon (C: 0.08-0.20%) with added alloying elements such as Chromium (Cr), Molybdenum (Mo), Nickel (Ni), Boron (B), and Aluminum (Al).
*   Microstructure: Bainite and Martensite duplex structure. This unique combination provides an optimal balance of hardness and toughness.
*   Hardness: Controlled within HRC 42-48 or HRC 48-54, ensuring effective cleaning without damaging the substrate.
*   Appearance: Dense, spherical particles with a smooth, metallic luster.
*   Key Feature: "Low Breakage, High Durability."

3. Manufacturing Process
The production of LBSS involves a rigorous and controlled process to ensure superior quality:
1.  Electric Arc Furnace (EAF) Melting: High-quality scrap is melted, and precise amounts of alloying elements (Cr, Mo, Ni, etc.) are added. The EAF process allows for excellent control over the chemical composition, removing harmful elements like Sulfur (S) and Phosphorus (P).
2.  Atomization & Granulation: The molten steel is atomized (using water or air) to form spherical droplets that solidify into shot.
3.  Double Heat Treatment (Quenching & Tempering): The shot undergoes a specialized two-stage heat treatment process. This critical step refines the internal grain structure, relieves internal stresses, and transforms the microstructure into the durable Bainite-Martensite phase.
4.  Precision Screening: The finished shot is precisely graded to meet international standards (SAE, ISO, GB).

4. Available Grades and Specifications
We offer LBSS in various hardness grades to suit different blasting requirements:
*   Hardness Grades:
    *   Medium Hardness: HRC 42-48 (Ideal for general cleaning and delicate surfaces).
    *   High Hardness: HRC 48-54 (Ideal for heavy-duty rust removal and scale breaking).
*   Sizes: Available in standard SAE/ISO sizes ranging from S030 to S460 (Approx. 0.3mm - 2.0mm diameter).
*   Standards: Compliant with GB/T 18838.4-2008 and SAE J444.

5. Primary Applications
Low-Bainite Steel Shot is widely used across industries for:
*   Surface Cleaning: Removal of rust, mill scale, sand, and oxides from steel plates, H-beams, and structural steel.
*   Shot Peening: Inducing compressive stress to improve the fatigue life of automotive parts, gears, and springs.
*   Pre-treatment for Painting: Creating the ideal anchor pattern (surface roughness) to maximize paint adhesion on ships, containers, and machinery.
*   Foundry & Forging: Descaling and cleaning of castings and forgings.

6. Advantages over Standard Cast Steel Shot
*   Extended Service Life: Lasts 2 times longer than standard cast steel shot due to its high toughness and low breakage rate.
*   Cost Efficiency: Reduces abrasive consumption by up to 50%, lowering the overall cost per ton of processed workpiece.
*   Energy Saving: Reduces power consumption by approximately 20% due to its excellent flowability and rebound characteristics.
*   Equipment Protection: Causes less wear on blast nozzles, liners, and impellers compared to conventional abrasives.
*   Cleaner Operation: Low dust generation reduces the load on dust collection systems and improves workplace visibility and safety.
*   Superior Finish: Leaves the workpiece surface bright, clean, and uniformly textured.

7. Packaging and Storage
*   Packaging: 25kg moisture-proof kraft paper bags, 1000kg bulk bags (FIBC), or customized packaging.
*   Storage: Store in a dry, indoor environment. Protect from moisture and rain to prevent clumping or rusting.
